Basic First Aid - Schools Module
 

Description

An emergency first aid course designed specifically for the school environment and which is ideal for teachers and child support staff.
 

• Assess and prioritise a first aid incident
• Deal with an unconscious casualty
• Deal with an adult or child who is choking
• Carry out CPR on adults and children
• Recognition and treatment of shock and choking
• Control bleeding
• Recognise and deal with a wide range of injuries, major medical conditions and childhood illnesses
• Maintain records
• Use and maintain first aid kits

Pre-Requisites

None

Certification

Students are continually assessed throughout the course, those who complete the course and reach the required standard are issued with a First Aid certificate as considered appropriate for Appointed Persons in the workplace which is valid for three years.
