Description
A course designed to teach the safe and effective use of the Automatic External Defibrillator to improve the chance of survival for a person suffering from a sudden cardiac arrest.
Outcomes
At the end of the course participants will be able to:
- Demonstrate effective basic life support
- Understand the concept of defibrillation
- Safe and effective use of an Automatic External Defibrillator
- Combine basic life support with automatic external defibrillation
Pre-Requisites
None
Certification
On successful completion of the course and final assessment students will be awarded a certificate of competence which is valid for six months. To maintain certification students will have to attend a short (approx 2 hours) refresher course
This course may also be added as an additional module to our Appointed Person or First Aid at Work courses.
